Iason Hellenic Shipping Co. Ltd, a well-established ship management company operating a fleet of 6 modern dry bulk carriers, is seeking a motivated and skilled Fleet Operator to join its Operations Department in Athens, Greece.

Requirements

The Fleet Operator plays a crucial role in the efficient and cost-effective execution of the vessels' voyages. The duties of this role include:

  • Liaising with Masters, charterers, agents, and technical departments
  • Supporting day-to-day operations and ensuring smooth voyage execution
  • Reviewing and analysing the voyage planning devised by Masters for clarity and compliance
  • Preparing or reviewing detailed stowage plans using the corresponding loading software
  • Monitoring vessel performance and benchmarking against charter party warranties

The sought-after candidate should bring both seafaring and shore-based experience to the role, along with strong analytical and communication skills, possessing:

  • Experience on board dry bulk carriers as Chief Officer or Second Officer
  • At least 2 years of shore-based experience in the Operations Department of a company operating bulk carriers
  • A university degree in shipping or a related maritime
  • Familiarity with voyage performance analysis and benchmarking practices
  • Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
  • Strong teamworking and communication skills
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
