Technical Superintendent

TMS Tankers Ltd.
is currently looking to recruit a
Technical Superintendent
who will execute various tasks related to the efficient technical performance and operations of assigned Company vessels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Daily monitoring of the technical issues and performance of 4 vessels within a Fleet of 12 Vessels.
• Implement and maintain Company Policy and procedures in respect of technical issues.
• Develop ideas and projects that contribute to the improvement of performance and vessels' efficiency.
• Liaise with Class and third parties ensuring that vessels conform to International, Statutory, Classification, Marine Industry and Company requirements and maintain, certification and approvals.
• Prepare vessels' budgets and monitor the relevant expenses, reporting to the fleet manager, review and approve suppliers' orders & invoices.
• Attend vessels for inspections, including structural assessment of cargo and ballast tanks, complete the relevant reports, track and deal with the findings within a timely manner, instructing on board personnel on further maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure proper maintenance of vessels and provide regular reports regarding their condition and engine performance.
• Prepare vessels' specifications and budgets for drydocking and attend onsite for their execution.
• Undertake briefing and debriefing sessions with Senior Officers on board and prepare their performance appraisals as per the company procedures.
• Participate in departmental meetings.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture or Chief Engineers' license
• At least 5 years of experience as Superintendent Engineer and/or Chief Engineer on board Gas, Oil or Chemical Tankers.
• Experience in dry docking and repairs
• IT literate, especially with MS Office
• Proficient in English, orally and in writing
• High sense of responsibility and attention to detail
• Ability to travel abroad at short notice
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work as a team member
