Superintendent Engineer

is currently looking to recruit a
Superintendent Engineer
who will execute various tasks related to the efficient technical performance and operations of assigned company vessels.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement and maintain company policies and procedures in respect of technical issues.
• Monitor industry developments and new regulations/amendments; develop ideas and projects that contribute to the improvement of performance and vessels' efficiency.
• Liaise with Class, Authorities and third parties ensuring that vessels conform to International, Statutory, Classification, Marine Industry and Company requirements and maintain, certification and approvals.
• Prepare vessels' budgets and monitor the relevant expenses, review and approve suppliers' orders & invoices.
• Prepare vessels' inspection schedule, monitor its execution, prepare and evaluate inspection and condition reports, problems, major defects and breakdowns, arrange and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure proper maintenance of vessels and provide regular reports regarding their condition and engine performance.
• Prepare selection of shipyard and vessels' specifications, schedules and budgets for drydocking, major repairs and technical projects and monitor their execution, both in technical and financial terms.
• Participate in departmental meetings.
• Undertake briefing and debriefing sessions with Senior Officers on board and prepare their performance appraisals as per the company procedures.
• Attend vessels for inspections, including structural assessment of cargo and ballast tanks, complete the relevant reports, track and deal with the findings within a timely manner, instructing on board personnel on further maintenance and repair activities.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

• University Degree in Naval Architecture and/or Mechanical Engineering and/or Chief Engineers' license
• At least 5 years of experience as Superintendent Engineer
• IT literate, especially with MS Office
• Proficient in English, orally and in writing
• High sense of responsibility and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
