Discover the Role

In this role you will support the Accounting & Tax team from Athens in ensuring that TMF's clients are provided with an efficient, professional and high-quality service that meets all statutory obligations. You will be responsible for the correct completion and filing of documentation, ensuring accurate accounting, and working in a timely and efficient manner to ensure the successful delivery of services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Sorting and filing documents into: third party invoices, company's sale invoices, bank statements, cash documents
• Making simple entries into accounting system (sales and receivables, costs and liabilities, cash reports, bank statements) in accordance with accounting and tax regulations
• Preparing/updating fixed assets register and depreciation tables
• Submitting all output of his/her work to appointed Accountant for checking
• Classification of operating costs into simple categories, review of received cash reports for completeness, checking of bank statements for completeness (subsequence)
• Performing different reconciliations, as requested by accountant/manager
• Verifying the accuracy, completeness and consistency of accounting information received
• Ensuring all tax declarations are filed on time and accurately with the relevant authorities – under supervision
• Being proactive and using initiative to clarify issues, identify savings and efficiencies for the clients and processes within a Team, proactively sharing the best practices
• Working in compliance with all company procedures and related standards of work
• Any other tasks assigned by the accountant/manager

Key Requirements

The successful candidate is analytical and methodical with experience in accounting. Possesses knowledge of accounting & tax regulations coupled with strong communication abilities. Integrity, team spirit and strong organizational skills are highly valued attributes.

Ideally, you are meeting following hiring criteria:

• 1-3 years of working experience in an accounting firm is preferred;
• Resourceful, independent and strong problem-solving abilities;
• Excellent written and communication skills, with strong ability to plan ahead and organize themselves;
• Analytical structured mind set with ability to follow and build upon existing processes and ensure data is maintained with accuracy and consistency;
• A degree in Accounting, Business or a closely related field;
• Fluency in English is essential;
• Good MS Excel and MS Word skills are essential;
• Experience in a similar role or business with good client servicing skills is preferred
