About The Role
Odyssea is seeking an Employability & Outreach Officer to support the Bridging the Skills Gap project (to start with) by delivering employability services and strengthening pathways to employment for vulnerable populations, particularly those residing in camps in and around Attica.
This person will be part of the Employability Team, focusing on outreach, counselling, and employer engagement to match job seekers with real opportunities. A strong field presence is required, along with flexibility to support both project operations and team-wide efforts.
Employability Counselling & Support
Conduct employability appointments with beneficiaries to provide:
CV guidance
- Interview preparation
Job matching and referrals
Support beneficiaries in completing their professional profiles on the internal platform and Odyssea's Talent Platform
- Follow up with job seekers post-placement to track outcomes and ensure sustainability
Outreach & Field-Based Engagement
- Visit camps in and outside of Attica for 3-5 days, to conduct one-on-one and group employment readiness sessions
- Participate in local events, job fairs, or info sessions in and near camps to raise awareness
- Facilitate employability-related workshops aligned with the program's key objectives
- Support the team in attracting new beneficiaries and maintaining relationships with local NGOs and stakeholders
- Ensure accurate data entry in the Odyssea tool and compliance with donor requirements.
- Distribute evaluation forms according to Odyssea's established feedback mechanism
Employer Relations & Placement
- Identify local companies near camps and project locations that could employ beneficiaries through both remote and physical presence during missions
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential employers through outreach, calls, and visits
- Match training graduates and job seekers with vacancies
- Prepare candidates for interviews and advocate on their behalf with companies
Cross-Team & Project Support
- Collaborate with the wider Odyssea team (Academy, etc.)
- Be flexible in supporting broader Employability Team needs when required
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, HR, Social Sciences, or related field
- At least 2–3 years' experience in recruitment and career counselling
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working in diverse field settings (including camps)
- Experience in the NGO or humanitarian sector
- Ability to build partnerships with employers and understand hiring needs
- Fluency in Greek and English (written and spoken)
- Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, databases, CRM/ATS systems)
- Valid driving license and ability to travel frequently to project sites
Desirable Skills
- Experience in the NGO or humanitarian sector
- Knowledge of labour market trends in Greece, especially in low-skill sectors
- Familiarity with employability services and inclusive hiring practices
- Skills in job development, community outreach, or sales/marketing
