Business Development Manager – Crete.
As a
Business Development Manager
in Crete, you'll report directly to our Country Manager Greece. You'll be responsible for driving sales growth across Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, and Advanced Wound Management, while building strong relationships with customers and key opinion leaders. Your role will combine commercial excellence with technical expertise, ensuring Smith+Nephew remains a trusted partner to healthcare providers in the region.
What you will be doing?
- Develop and execute strategic business plans for your territory, covering portfolio management, pricing, reimbursement, marketing, and sales effectiveness.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets by effectively promoting the Smith+Nephew portfolio.
- Monitor and evaluate sales performance against annual plans and forecasts, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Provide regular reporting on sales performance, competitor activities, and market trends with recommendations for growth.
- Identify new business opportunities with existing and potential customers, leveraging market insights.
- Build and maintain strong, compliant relationships with healthcare professionals, including surgeons, nurses, and administrators.
- Deliver product training, technical advice, and support to ensure customer confidence and satisfaction.
- Engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) to strengthen loyalty and drive product adoption.
What will you need to be successful?
- At least 6 years of sales experience in the healthcare industry, ideally in Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, or Advanced Wound Management.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas year on year.
- Strong experience selling technology and/or capital products to multiple stakeholders within hospitals and medical settings.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with advanced English proficiency.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles and influence multiple decision-makers.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities, including mentoring or training peers.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively (>75%).
