PeopleCert is looking for a Corporate Development Director to lead the organization's strategic growth initiatives, including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Investor Relations (IR), strategic partnerships, market expansion, and cross-functional corporate projects. This role works directly with the Executive Leadership Team to identify, assess, and deliver opportunities that enhance the company's competitive position and support long-term value creation.

The position requires a leader with strong strategic thinking, solid financial expertise, project management and people skills, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments. It blends analysis with hands-on execution, calling for someone who can shape strategy as well as drive projects to completion and translate ideas into measurable business results. The role involves managing a team, travelling as required, and reporting directly to the Chief Corporate Development Officer.

As a Corporate Development Director your tasks will include the following:

  • Lead A-Z the corporate development team in sourcing, evaluating and analyzing potential M&A opportunities.

  • Working with cross-functional teams to lead the development and execution of the M&A strategy and process—covering company, market and competitive analysis; project management; negotiation; pricing and financial impact assessment (with financial modelling and sensitivity analyses); deal structuring; due diligence; and full transaction documentation.

  • Preparing presentations and other materials for executive leadership and board meetings related to M&A opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with internal and external functions (e.g. legal, finance).
  • Leading the Investor Relations (IR) function.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics.

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.

  • 15 years' experience in Investment Banking/Corporate Development.
  • Experience in leading corporate environments such as banking, consulting, or private equity.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing senior stakeholders, and driving complex transactions.
  • Excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification is desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus). Good knowledge of other languages, will be considered an asset.
  • Excellent IT skills, ECDL Core/Expert certification will be considered a plus.
  • Excellent Project Management skills, PRINCE2 certification will be considered will be viewed as an advantage.
  • Passionate AI user (AI Champion mentality).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and advanced financial modelling skills.
  • Team-playing approach and stakeholder management skills.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check

  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity and place of residence)

  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)

  • Financial background check

  • Employment reference check.

  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
