Senior Accountant

Based in
Athens
, Greece

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional to join our Finance & Accounting team.

This position entails diverse accounting and financial responsibilities that support the department's efficient day-to-day operation. The position reports directly to the Chief Accountant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage general ledger accounting and ensure accuracy of all journal entries
  • Review and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  • Supervise the processing of invoices, payments, and expense claims
  • Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the preparation and submission of VAT and other statutory tax declarations in accordance with local regulations
  • Review and reconcile data submitted to the AADE MyData platform
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and management reports
  • Maintain and update the fixed assets register and related depreciation schedules
  • Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and legal requirements
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes

Qualifications and Expertise

We are looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an accounting dpt. ideally in a similar role
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations
  • Excellent command of Greek and good command in English, both written and spoken
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and accounting software
