Role Overview

We are looking for a candidate for the position of Operations Accountant to join our Athens office. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to strengthen their accounting expertise, working alongside a high-performing and globally connected team. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional with strong organization and communication skills, commercial awareness, and a genuine interest in the global maritime industry.

Responsibilities

  • Handle daily accounting tasks related to our operations
  • Prepare, review, and reconcile financial records
  • Support financial reporting and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Issue brokerage commission invoice and handle collection
  • Collaborate with operations and commercial teams for smooth information flow

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years relevant work experience with international audit / accounting firms or shipping / shipbroking companies
  • Candidates with a maritime, accounting or finance academic background will be highly regarded
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Knowledge of Benefit accounting software will be considered an advantage
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Highly computer literate / MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Hard working, continuous learner and ambitious to grow with the firm
  • Ability to perform well under tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks
