Athens, Attica, Greece Enesel group Full time €25,000 - €40,000 per year

The Ship Management Division of ENESEL Group, based in Athens, Greece, presently operating a diverse fleet of 27 modern, high-specification tankers and container vessels, is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Accountant to join our Accounts Department, reporting directly to the Head of Group Accounting.

All vessels are constructed to the highest international standards in first-class shipyards and are chartered to leading global charterers and operators, primarily on a time-charter basis.

Key Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accountancy from a recognized university and possess:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of proven financial/accounting experience within the shipping industry or a related field.
  • A strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and Hellenic Tax Law.
  • Proven expertise in third-party management and handling of intensive reporting requirements.
  • A solid grasp of International Accounting Standards (IFRS) and exposure to year-end processes.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping, budget preparation, and cost control.
  • Management of MGA and freight-related transactions.
  • Execution of payments and daily handling of e-banking systems.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Assistance with quarterly and year-end reporting cycles.
  • Active involvement in month-end closing procedures.
  • Preparation and submission of various periodical reports.
  • Close coordination with third-party managers and preparation of detailed financial and performance analyses.
  • Participation in ad-hoc projects and reporting tasks, as required.

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and the MS Office suite; familiarity with payroll and professional accounting software is an advantage.
  • Tech-savvy, analytical, and comfortable using digital tools on a daily basis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration, accountability, and solution-oriented thinking.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain attention to detail under pressure.
  • Excellent problem-solving.
