We are seeking an IT Applications Operations Specialist to join our IT Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for streamlining daily operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of our banking applications.

More specifically, the new team member's responsibilities will be to:

Monitor Operations: Managing day-to-day operations of the IT Banking Applications Team, ensuring the availability and reliability of system.

Use a variety of tools (Grafana, Zabbix, E-mail alerts,  application specific tools) to monitor the system.

Ensure application and service processes and outputs are error free and complete.

Set-up and monitor automated jobs in a central scheduler.

Develop Procedures: Create and maintain procedures and protocols (e.g., checklists) for banking applications.

Communicate & Coordinate: Liaise with employees and vendors to ensure seamless operations.

Collaborate Cross-Departmentally : Work closely with other bank departments to ensure problem-free user operations.

Support & Troubleshoot: Provide support and assistance with application configuration and troubleshooting; conduct demos and training sessions for employees.

Maintain Applications: Perform maintenance, and support tasks including patching and release management.

Diagnose & address application issues.

Assist in software upgrade and migration projects.

Assist with auditor's requests as assigned.

Ensure continuity of the business processes supported by one or many applications / services.

Analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve simple to complex software and data problems.

Access Control: Configure system access rights, application parameters, user privileges and user roles. Set-up new users, terminate or modify access rights upon request.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with T24 or other banking applications.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS platforms such as MySQL and MS SQL Server.
  • Expertise in scripting languages like SQL, Python, or Shell.
  • Understanding of ITIL practices and change management procedures.
  • Demonstrated organizational abilities, including effective time management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate initiative.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, application stacks (e.g., LAMP), build tools, or database monitoring tools will be viewed favorably.
  • Experience in project management will be advantageous.
