ELPEDISON, with its two privately-owned power plants in Thisvi (Voiotia) and Thessaloniki, with a total installed capacity of 820 MW, uses natural gas as fuel and ensures a clean and continuous electricity flow, based on a highly environmentally-friendly power generation process.

We are currently looking for a Business Application Analyst for Corporate applications who will play a key role in bridging business needs with IT solutions, ensuring the effective analysis, design, implementation, and support with main on the Corporate applications and related processes but also contributing in other business applications if required. Additionally, the Business Application Analyst will coordinate with vendors, and upholds system reliability through proactive testing, release management, and user support. For Agile/Scrum product-related projects the Business Applications analyst will undertake the role of the product owner.

What you will do:

  • Participate in the analysis, design, implementation and test of business applications change, focusing on existing or new core corporate applications.
  • Develop and execute test scenarios, reports defects and resolve if possible. Review and confirms successful completion of test scenarios and organize delivery of changes to production systems.
  • Identify opportunities and propose application enhancements to align better with business needs.
  • Undertake the role of Product Owner in Agile Scum implementations, responsible for working with key users to understand their needs, contributing to the product vision, refining and prioritizing the product backlog to ensure those needs are met, and helping determine the overall direction of the product.
  • Define release plans, conducts Readiness Assessments and execute deployment plans as part of the Release Management & Service Introduction procedure.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the vendors that provide IT outsourcing support services for the applications in scope. Evaluate technical proposals from vendors and provide recommendations. Propose application's enhancements to better meet business needs.
  • Perform ticket classification and investigation under existing SLAs and proceed to resolution actions. Assesse severity on incidents reported from Key Users to provide 1st level and 2nd level support for applications of his/her responsibility and escalates issues for 3rd level support to the Business Application Team Leader or vendors and then evaluates solutions provided.
  • Monitor data exchange/integration between applications of his/her duty and ensure integrity and security of data exchange between applications. Perform corrective actions in systems or data when required.
  • Conduct configuration/ parameterization on systems of responsibility for customizing purposes. Perform or proposes tuning on systems resources for performance purposes.
  • Ensure proper technical and user documentation is provided for the system implementations/changes on the applications in his/her duty
  • Maintain UAT systems and performs periodical update from production platforms ensuring that test environment landscape is provided for all applications.

What you will need in order to succeed:

  • A BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant working experience in IS Business Analysis, Design and support in Business Applications, preferably in the Utilities, Services or Telecom sectors.
  • 1-3 years of relevant working experience in Agile/Scrum projects as a product owner.
  • 1-3 years of experience on Product Backlog Management Tools such as Azure DevOps or JIRA Software.
  • Professional Scrum Product Owner Certification (PSPO I) will be a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) will be a plus.
  • Experience in refining product backlogs, defining sprint goals, and managing sprint priorities.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Prior experience with ticketing systems such as JIRA for issue tracking and resolution will be a plus.
  • Very good IS analysis and design skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical language into business terminology.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good reporting skill.
  • Prioritization and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to write clear, concise user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirements documents that developers can easily understand when working on Agile/Scrum environment.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach to deliver solutions that enhance business productivity.
