Warehouse Coordinator III

The TxDOT Support Services Division is actively seeking a highly motivated and dependable professional to serve as Warehouse Coordinator at the Regional Distribution Center (RDC) located in Athens, TX. This role supports the logistics and supply chain operations for 421 business units across the state of Texas, ensuring timely and accurate shipping and receiving. As the Warehouse Coordinator, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Minimum Qualifications\: Education:

High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies 

Experience:

5 years of experience in warehouse operations or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications 

Licenses and Certifications:

Valid driver's license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions\: 

• Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
• Subject to atmospheric conditions-fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation
• Required to wear protective gear-respirator, hard hat, or other device
• Medium work\: Lift up to 50 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs
• Climbing - ascending/descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, etc
• Balancing-walking, standing, crouching on various surfaces without falling
• Reaching-extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction
• Walking-moving on foot to accomplish tasks\: long distance/from one work site to another
• Lifting-raising objects from lower to higher position/horizontally to a different position
• Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
• Visual Acuity-operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment

Oversees the receiving, storing, and issuing of stock in a warehouse. Coordinates warehouse operations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence. 

Essential Duties\: 

• Oversees all warehouse stock including the receiving, storing and issuing of stock.
• Oversees and monitors hazardous waste material data, storage and disposal as outlined by state environmental guidelines.
• Oversees and monitors material requests and ensures that they are properly initiated and prepared for the ordering of required parts and materials.
• Oversees and performs spot checks and annual inventory.
• Disposes of surplus stock.
• Ensures incoming freight meets specifications and expected quality.
• Ensures warehouse area and equipment are kept clean and properly maintained.
• Enters and reads computer data relating to the issuance and receipt of stock.
• Handles problems relating to incorrect or damaged stock.
• May serve as a lead worker and the related tasks.
• Monitors inventory levels to maintain stock at proper levels including\: ordering materials, reducing surplus or obsolete stock, and minimizing back orders.
• Operates fork-lift.
• Processes purchase orders.
• Trains other employees.
• Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
