NeuroPublic is a leading technology company specializing in smart farming solutions, IoT systems, and large-scale agricultural data analytics. As part of our mission to revolutionize agriculture, we are developing an innovative Smart Electronic Olive Fruit Fly Trap to help olive farmers monitor and control Bactrocera oleae (olive fruit fly) infestations.

Project Overview: Smart Electronic Olive Fruit Fly Trap

Our system integrates IoT-enabled smart traps, cloud-based AI processing, and mobile/web applications to provide farmers with real-time pest monitoring and decision-making insights.

Key Components:

  • Smart IoT Traps
    with pheromones, cameras, and wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi/LTE).
  • AI-Powered Backend
    for real-time image processing and pest population analysis.
    Mobile & Web Applications
    for farmers to access infestation data, visualizations, and alerts.
  • Scalable Cloud Infrastructure
    handling high-frequency IoT data ingestion & API services.

We are looking for a
highly skilled
and
experienced
backend engineer to
design, develop, and optimize
the core backend systems powering this groundbreaking
smart agriculture
solution.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize
    scalable, high-performance
    backend systems for IoT data ingestion & processing.
  • Design efficient
    SQL databases
    and queries to manage large-scale sensor & image data.
  • Implement
    RESTful APIs
    to integrate backend services with mobile and web applications.
  • Work with
    machine learning engineers
    to support AI-driven image analysis workflows.
  • Ensure
    high availability, security, and robustness
    of cloud-based IoT services.
  • Optimize performance for
    real-time data streaming & analytics
    .

Requirements:

  • 5+ years
    of backend development experience in
    Java (Spring Boot, JEE)
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
    , including query optimization.
  • Experience with high-throughput, distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in
    RESTful API development
    and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with
    IoT data processing, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    is a plus.
  • Experience in
    real-time analytics, image processing, or AI integration
    is a bonus.
  • Passion for
    agritech, sustainability, and smart farming
    is highly desirable
