attica department stores is currently in search of an experienced Accountant as a part of our General Accounting Department at our headquarters in Athens.

Role Purpose
As an Accountant, you will apply accepted accounting principles and procedures, gather & analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely reports / financial statements and ensure accounting control procedures are followed. To be successful, it is essential that you can work at pace, have excellent organization, numerical skills and an eye for detail

Key Accountabilities

  • Invoicing.
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger, Vendor and Customer balances, on a daily, monthly basis.
  • Data entry for all transactions for relevant legal entities.
  • Monitor the smooth operation of accounting procedures and coordinate the communication within the team to ensure that all information is accessible.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant role with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and/or IFRS accounting standards requirements.
  • Proven working experience in ERP Systems. Working Knowledge of SAP – ERP will be considered as an asset.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to details, accuracy and a problem – solving approach.
  • Ability to gather, plan and organize information to make the right decision, meeting strict deadlines.
