Accounting Assistant in Athens, Greece

Responsibilities:

·    Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including data entry, invoice processing, reconciling GL accounts, payments, banks and petty cash reconciliations.

·    Maintain accurate and organized financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.

·    Prepare reports, statements, and schedules as required.

·    Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including managing vendor invoices, processing customer payments, and resolving any related inquiries.

·    Assist in the preparation of payroll and employee expense reimbursements

·    Manage myDATA submissions: basic validations, discrepancy follow-up and coordination with external stakeholders.

·    Maintain the fixed assets register and support periodic inventories

·    Collaborate with team members to improve existing accounting processes and procedures

·    Handling and resolving queries in a timely manner through effective communication, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders

·    Contribute to ERP data quality; collaborate effectively with internal/external stakeholders.

·    Provide general administrative support and assistance to the finance department as needed

Requirements:

·    University degree in Accounting/Finance

·    Post graduate diploma is a plus

·    2–5 years' relevant experience in accounting

·    Excellent knowledge of Greek and English in both writing and speaking is a prerequisite

·    A good level of IT literacy including competency with all aspects of Microsoft Office

·    Ability to maintain excellent attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment

·    
A high level of organization, able to multi-task with the ability to work to multiple deadlines, effective under pressure.

·    Motivated character with a can do attitude.

·    Ambition, enthusiasm and wanting to progress within a reputable and fast moving organization
