For a Leading Dry Bulk Shipping Company: Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards
  • Conduct regular financial audits and reconciliations
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and MGA logistics
  • Prepare and submit internal and external financial reports, including management reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Greek Law 89 and other regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors for smooth financial operations
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Maintain and update the accounting system, including Benefit software
  • Support management with ad hoc financial analysis and decision-making
Requirements
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a shipping company
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Knowledge of Greek accounting law (Law 89) and standard reporting procedures
  • Experience in payments, and financial reporting
  • Experience in MGA logistics and coordination with operational departments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent command of English, both oral and written
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines
