SmarShip Management is a remote vessel operator providing complete vessel remote post fixture activities such as operations, claims handling, chartering support, and charter party negotiations, with a focus on the dry bulk sector.

Founded by professionals with over 18 years of combined maritime experience, SmarShip offers shipowners, operators, charterers and ship managers flexible and cost-effective operational and commercial support.

Furthermore, SmarShip Management also acts as a competitive dry bulk shipbroker, with worldwide access to open bulk cargoes and tonnages.

To strengthen its chartering activities, SmarShip seeks to hire an experienced dry bulk broker, preferably based in the Middle East (Dubai), to:

Develop and manage chartering business through in a preferably range from Red sea to Fareast, except of sanctioned countries.

Combine SmarShip's first-class support services with active market ship and cargo brokering.

Expand the company's internal database and market intelligence network.

This role is offered on a commission basis on each successful fixture, with excellent growth potential and full operational support from the SmarShip team.

Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Dry Bulk Ship Broker. The Dry Bulk Ship Broker will be responsible for conducting brokerage activities, trading, handling freight transactions, participating in international trade, and engaging in commodity and bulk carrier markets. The candidate will expannd business by targeting cargoes and open tonnage, and oversee vessel fixtures, and post fixture, and commission invoice preparation. Daily tasks will include coordinating with clients, such us cargo brokers, shippers, charterers and ship owners, review the marker and produce reports basis the market trends.

Qualifications

Experience in ship and cargo Brokerage

Knowledge of shipping, Freight, International Trade, and Commodity Markets

Strong negotiation and communication skills

Ability to work independently and remotely

Proven experience in dry cargo and ship chartering

Relevant educational background in Maritime Studies, Business, or related field
