In Commsquare we are looking to enhance our team which develops our passive Core Network monitoring solution, DataMon, with a Product Manager. Customers of DataMon include MNO (Mobile Network Operators) and full-MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operators).
The role combines deep telecom domain knowledge with strong product leadership skills. The Product Manager owns the product's roadmap and translates telecommunication specifications into actionable items for the software development team. The qualified candidate will act as a telecom expert within the DataMon team, driving and defining product requirements.
Main Responsibilities
- Define and maintain a technical roadmap according to business requirements set by the stakeholders
- Define detailed specifications for the software development team
- Define correlation and enrichment rules across control plane protocols and user plane traffic
- Follow agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum), maintain and prioritise issues in the backlog of the product in JIRA
- Analyse CDR (Call Detail Records) and network data to detect abnormal usage patterns reported by customers
- Review the ticketing system with the aid of the support team and introduce tickets in the backlog
- Maintain internal and external documentation (e.g., manuals, technical notes, guidelines, etc.)
- Align with stakeholders and set priorities for the product development cycles
- Collaborate with senior management, sales and support to translate business requirements into user stories for the development team
- Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally, including visiting and discussing with customers to gather and validate requirements
- Be the primary contact point for product related queries and act as an escalation point for critical support issues
- Provide internal and external technical presentations and workshops
- Monitor the market and develop competitive analyses
Basic qualifications and experience
BSc or MSc in Data Science, Electrical Engineering or Telecoms Engineering
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in mobile core network technologies
- 3 to 5 years of experience in leading Agile teams and managing product backlogs
- Very good understanding of all mobile core technologies (CS, PS, EPC, 5G-SA, IMS), interfaces and protocols (GTP, Diameter, SIP, MAP, CAMEL, etc.)
- Call flow analysis using Wireshark;
- Working proficiency in English
Favoured qualifications and experience
- Hands-on experience for data exploration e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau or Power BI
- Understanding of IP protocols and their impact on mobile data performance
- Exposure to cloud-native deployments (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Experience in programming
- Fluency in Dutch or French.
