About the location:
An iconic hideaway on the glamorous Athens riviera, reborn. On the sophisticated Athens Riviera, at the tip of a pine-clad peninsula, Four Seasons offers the best of both worlds: a laid-back seaside escape just 30 minutes from the historical city centre. Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens opened in March 2019 and provides a preferred address for both business and leisure travelers, and the highly personalized, anticipatory service that Four Seasons guests expect and value around the world. The Arion Hotel was built in 1967 and has 106 keys and 61 Bungalows, and the Nafsika opened in 1980 and has 136 keys. Under the same ownership is a large private beach club and marina. Nafsika is open through the year, while Arion and the bungalows operate eight months of the year. Adding to the complement of on-site F&B operations (8 Restaurants and Bars), there are also two third party restaurants on site.
About the Role
At Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens, we are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our high-performing Sales team. This senior leadership role is essential in driving revenue growth, building strong client relationships, and positioning the property as a premier luxury destination across diverse market segments.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing the hotel's sales strategy, managing a team of Sales Managers, and ensuring alignment with the Commercial Plan. By proactively identifying opportunities, mentoring your team, and collaborating with key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in achieving revenue targets and strengthening the hotel's market presence.
What You Will Do
- Lead and manage a team of Sales Managers to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives aligned with the hotel's Commercial Plan.
- Drive revenue growth through proactive prospecting, account management, and negotiations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients across leisure, corporate, groups, and government segments.
- Position the hotel as a premier destination in target markets.
- Collaborate closely with the Revenue Management and Marketing teams to ensure strategic alignment.
- Mentor and support the professional development of the Sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity.
- Ensure effective use of sales systems, tools, and reporting structures.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
What You Bring
- Proven leadership experience managing a Sales team, ideally within luxury hospitality.
- Strong background in sales strategy, account management, and business development.
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Senior Sales Manager, Associate Director of Sales, or Director of Sales leading a team.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of sales management software and CRM tools.
- Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Experience working with diverse market segments, with focus on leisure sales.
