The Optical Network Material Management Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring the continuous availability of critical materials, equipment and subsystems for development and maintenance projects of telecommunication networks. The role involves preparing feasibility studies for initiating supplier tenders, conducting technical and financial evaluation of proposals, and managing risks that affect the operational continuity of infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitors material availability and analyses consumption trends, inventory levels, and demand forecasts.
  • Prepares feasibility reports for launching supplier tenders, including techno-economic documentation.
  • Evaluates technical specifications and procurement requirements in collaboration with the technical teams.
  • Participates in the call for tenders, as well as in the process of evaluating, and selecting suppliers in collaboration with the Procurement Department.
  • Analyses supply risks and establishes risk mitigation plans.
  • Ensures compliance with corporate policies, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) related to material availability and the effectiveness of tenders.

Requirements:

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a University or Technological Education Institute
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Material Management, Material Ordering, Material Tenders, etc., in the Telecommunications sector.
  • A Master's Degree in Telecommunications Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (MBA) is an asset
  • Knowledge of materials and FTTH network architecture
  • Proficiency in GIS software
  • Experience in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Experience in research and evaluation of materials and FTTH network solution suppliers
  • Desirable knowledge of Power BI
