Job Summary

This role involves performing daily inspections of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems to maintain detailed records of machinery conditions. The practical mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the smooth operation of all mechanical systems and equipment throughout the hotel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, and service all mechanical systems, infrastructure, and equipment installed in the hotel.
  • Ensure all plant rooms are kept clean, safe, and operational.
  • Estimate and order materials and equipment needed to complete projects.
  • Assist and sometimes oversee the work of junior staff or helpers involved in maintenance tasks.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest and employee maintenance inquiries and complaints, ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Support preventive maintenance in guestrooms and public areas to minimize breakdowns.
  • Assist in major shutdowns and repairs under the direction of the Assistant Engineering Manager.
  • Keep accurate logs and reports of maintenance activities and materials used.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as fires or power failures in accordance with hotel protocols.
  • Adhere strictly to all hotel policies regarding health, safety, fire regulations, and hygiene.
Requirements
  • Practical experience in mechanical maintenance or a related technical field.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and high-quality workmanship.
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with guests and colleagues.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the dynamic needs of the hotel and engineering department.
