Accounting Specialist

That's where you come in We're looking for an ambitious Accounting Specialist to provide support to the finance department by managing daily accounting tasks. You will be part of a team working to maintain order and transparency for the group's finances. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in tax and accounting principles and able to work comfortably with numbers and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Posting and processing double-entry bookkeeping journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded, necessary posting entries with myData compliance.
• Updating accounts receivable/accounts payable with bank receipts/payments.
• Review Assets (PPE) tracking (additions, disposals, depreciation/amortization) and reconciliation with general ledger.
• Reconciliation of monthly payroll accounting entries with the payroll reports.
• Monthly reconciliation of journal entries with general ledger.
• Monthly preparation of tax return submissions (VAT, Withholding taxes, Submission Intra-Community Supplies – acquisitions etc.) and reconcile with general ledger.
• Checking and reconciling expense reports.
• Organizing, updating financial data and schedules to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
• Payments checking and organizing scheduling payments cycle.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of proven experience as an Accountant in double-entry bookkeeping Greek Entities.
• Familiar with monthly submissions of VAT returns, monthly withholding taxes, myDATA, tax laws about corporate income tax etc.
• BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
• Good knowledge of IFRS and Greek Accounting Standards.
• Good knowledge of MS Office Suite and in particular of spreadsheets (Excel).
• Experience with bookkeeping software (Pylon accounting or equivalent) with ability configuring and managing accounts to export right reports.
• Fluent in English, attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Organized and analytical thinking with great attention to detail.
• Experience with US and UK based entities and online and cloud ERPs (Xero, NetSuite etc) will be highly valued.
