MissionMain Responsibilities
  • Undertake in-depth analysis on the dry bulk market and trade flows, especially agricultural products, to enhance BRS's freight research capabilities
  • Author weekly and monthly reports concerning issues pertinent to the dry bulk market
  • Authoring ad-hoc client-focused dry bulk and freight market research reports
  • Presenting BRS' market outlooks to clients
  • Developing, maintaining and improving tools for data input and statistical verification
  • Support the work of Dry Bulk brokers and collaborate with the Dry Bulk Research team as required
Profile
  • Graduate degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, shipping, international affairs or related areas
  • Master's degree is desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Broad knowledge of dry bulk commodities and / or freight markets
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work under time pressure
  • Self-starter and take initiatives, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working with a global team of varied backgrounds and cultures
  • Conscientious, very good eye for detail and quality control
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel, Power BI and a programming language would be desirable
  • Knowledge of S&P or newbuilding markets would be an advantage
  • A first experience of working in the shipping, commodities, logistics or financial industries
  • Demonstrable track record of drafting concise reports and presentations
  • Experience with building and updating mathematical models would be an advantage
