We're Hiring: Freight Collection Analyst

Velos is growing and we are looking to strengthen our dynamic team by recruiting a highly motivated and experienced 
Freight Collection Analyst
 to join our Chartering Department.

Responsibilities:


 Calculating invoicing & handling all freight / demurrage / miscellaneous claims


 Follow up with counter parties for outstanding amounts


 Negotiating effectively with charterers re disputes, discrepancies to resolve claims amicably


 Liaising with Chartering & Operations teams, following the schedule of vessels, checking time bars on recaps and ensuring that all claims are settled


 Creating necessary reports for performance monitoring for the freight department

Requirements:


 Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a similar role (i.e. Freight / Claims) within the shipping industry


 Strong knowledge & familiarity with dry cargo and tankers charter parties


 University degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Economics, or related field (BSc/MSc preferred)


 Excellent command of English (written and spoken)


 Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills


 High level of organization, accuracy, and ability to perform under pressure


 Excellent interpersonal & teamwork skills


 Good knowledge of DANAOS will be considered a plus
