We are a growing freight forwarding and logistics company seeking a
Collections Specialist
to join our Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for
managing outstanding receivables, following up with customers and ensuring timely collection of payments
, in alignment with the company's credit policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Communicate with clients via phone and email to follow up on overdue invoices.
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities and payment arrangements.
  • Coordinate with the sales and operations departments to resolve billing disputes.
  • Reconcile customer accounts and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Support the month-end closing process with updated receivables data.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and financial controls.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially with external clients.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with accounting/ERP software .
  • Good understanding of invoicing and basic accounting principles.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Fluency in Greek and good command of English (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in the logistics, transport, or freight forwarding industry.
  • Familiarity with Greek VAT and tax documentation.
  • Knowledge of credit control policies and procedures.
