IT System Engineer

Job's Purpose

As an IT System Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our IT systems, networks, and cloud environments. You will play a key role in ensuring system reliability, security, and scalability while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Active Directory (AD), hybrid cloud environments, Microsoft 365 administration, cloud platforms (Azure) and enterprise storage solutions.

What you will focus on

• Manage and optimize Active Directory (AD), Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, and identity access management across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Implement and support hybrid cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises infrastructure and cloud services (Azure AD etc.)
• Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, OneDrive, Defender for Office 365), ensuring security, compliance, and efficiency.
• Oversee email security, user provisioning, and access controls within Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
• Maintain enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud storage), ensuring performance, redundancy, and data security.
• Knowledge of SQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle).
• Administer Windows/Linux servers, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud infrastructure (Azure).
• Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate system tasks and infrastructure deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system, storage, and database-related issues, working closely with IT support and development teams.
• Maintain and test backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure business continuity.
• Document system architectures, configurations, and procedures while mentoring junior IT staff.

Who we are looking for

• BSc degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Strong experience in system engineering, IT infrastructure, and cloud administration.
• Strong expertise in Active Directory (AD), Azure AD and managing Microsoft 365 administration
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises infrastructure with cloud services, in enterprise storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud storage).
• Proficiency in Windows/Linux OS, networking, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure), including infrastructure deployment, security, and cost optimization.
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for system administration and provisioning.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, endpoint security, and identity and access management (IAM).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or SQL Database certifications (MCSE: Data Management & Analytics, etc.).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
