Senior Systems Engineer

In this role, you will be a technical leader and train more junior Engineers and Administrators while being responsible for not only maintaining the efficiency and resilience of our client and internal systems but also driving innovative solutions that address evolving challenges. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to anticipate needs, troubleshoot complex problems, and implement best practices for system performance, security, and reliability. Your insights and leadership will be instrumental in enhancing our operational effectiveness and ensuring we meet the highest standards of service excellence for our clients in a 24x7x365 mission critical service desk environment.

• No problem is beyond your skillset, you know the deepest level of debugging and troubleshooting and you know no problem or systems failure is beyond your skillset.
• Architect, design, and implement advanced cloud-based systems and solutions.
• Lead system performance optimization and ensure high availability across all platforms.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the systems engineering team.
• Drive the adoption of best practices in system design, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Collaborate with product development, security, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
• Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery, and incident response preparations.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements

• Linux, Free Open Source Software, Systems, Homelab, Devops skills, anything virutalzed, containters, kubernetes, cloud native, with strong evidence of security and root access environments and ability to train others are skills above any formalzied eductional certifications..
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred or certifications in networking, linux, Kubernetes, cloud native technologies, cybersecurity and other relevant FOSS certificates to prove knowledge and motivation to excel in your area of passion.
• 7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer with a strong focus on cloud technologies and architecture.
• Extensive knowledge of operating systems, virtualization, and containerization technologies.
• Expertise in automation using scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.) and configuration management tools.
• Proven experience in system performance tuning and optimization within a multi-cloud environment.
• Strong understanding of networking principles, security protocols, and disaster recovery methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience mentoring junior team members.
