Group Technical Buyer - Marine Sector

Responsibilities:


• Assess and validate the technical capabilities of new suppliers and product specifications.


• Ensure suppliers comply with quality, certification, and regulatory standards.


• Work closely with the Procurement to integrate new suppliers.


• Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Quality teams to assess new raw materials.


• Review technical specifications, test reports, and compliance documents.


• Approve new materials and coordinate integration into procurement processes.


• Work with procurement to identify technical alternatives or secondary suppliers.


• Periodically analyze vendor portfolio to identify overlapping suppliers.


• Support supplier consolidation strategies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.


• Ensure technical feasibility and quality consistency in vendor merging initiatives.


• Assist Engineering, R&D and Production teams in identifying technical sourcing requirements.


• Ensure compliance with technical and quality standards for one-time project purchases.


• Conduct periodic technical reviews of approved suppliers.


• Ensure ongoing supplier compliance with quality, safety, and technical standards.

Requirements


• Bachelor's degree in engineering, or naval architecture.


• 3+ years of experience in procurement, technical buying, or supplier validation roles.


• Experience in shipping, maritime, or industrial sector.


• Strong analytical skills with attention to technical details.


• Strong knowledge of materials, components, and manufacturing processes.


• Ability to evaluate technical drawings, specifications, and compliance requirements.


• Familiarity with ERP procurement modules and supplier management systems.


• Ability to work with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Sales, R&D, Production) ensuring alignment to technical requirements.
