Laskaridis Maritime S.A.

is looking to hire a Shipping Accountant.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Managing Master's General Account (MGA) of the fleet
  • Liaising with crew aboard, the crew department and the accounts department ashore.
  • Processing invoices data entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded properly
  • Assisting in updating accounts payment and perform bank reconciliations
  • Preparing periodical shipping reports with emphasis on crew expenses
  • Assisting in quarterly closing and preparation of trial balances and financial statement
  • Assessing / preparing budget and comparability reports (Budget vs Actual)
  • Any ad-hoc projects relevant to the Accounts department

Skills and Qualifications:

MUST

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Shipping
  • 2-5 years of professional experience in a Shipping company or a known accounting firm
  • Excellent command of Greek and English language
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office with focus on Excel
  • Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently, take initiatives and cooperate with various departments
  • Ability to meet assigned deadlines
  • Confidentiality

PLUS

  • Postgraduate studies and/or any professional qualification in accounting/finance/shipping (in progress or completed)
  • Shipping ERP experience will be considered as a plus
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Familiar with Greek VAT & Greek Shipping management company (Law 89) tax framework
