Department: Finance & Accounting

Reports To: Finance Manager / Accounts Payable Manager

Role: Accounts Payable member to join our finance team in the real estate and construction sector.

You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and financial transactions for property developments, subcontractor services, and supplier accounts.

You will play a crucial role in maintaining cash flow accuracy and ensuring the smooth financial operations of projects across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, code, and process high volumes of invoices, including those related to subcontractors, suppliers, and construction project costs.
  • Match purchase orders, contracts, and delivery documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage subcontractor claims, progress payments, and retentions in accordance with construction industry practices and contract terms.
  • Perform weekly and monthly payment runs, ensuring payments are made on time and in line with contractual obligations.
  • Reconcile vendor and subcontractor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and procurement teams to clarify invoice details and obtain approvals.
  • Maintain and update the AP ledger, ensuring accurate cost coding to specific construction projects and developments.
  • Assist with month-end closing processes, including accruals and reporting on project-specific payables.
  • Ensure all transactions comply with company policies, relevant legislation (e.g., GST, Building Code), and audit requirements.
  • Provide audit support and documentation related to accounts payable, supplier contracts, and financial transactions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and high attention to detail.
