Under general direction from the Senior Administrative Officer, the Corporate Services Manager leads the Corporate team and provides high quality administration, human resources, finance, procurement and property functions across the Australian Embassy, Athens. The position is also the primary liaison with the Regional Services Delivery Hub (RSDH) for Europe on HR and finance matters and manages contracts with external suppliers.

The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage a small corporate team responsible for the delivery of the Embassy's corporate functions including human resources, finance, procurement and property.
  • Supervise the team, including managing performance, prioritising workloads, coaching and training.
  • Work closely with the RSDH on HR and finance functions, liaising with the Embassy's employment lawyer, local banks and external service providers as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of local employment legislation, policies, terms and conditions, and ensure relevant internal processes, procedures and practices remain efficient and compliant.
  • Oversee budget development, expenditure monitoring and financial reporting and ensure delivery of accurate and timely payroll and entitlements management.
  • Undertake procurement activities in accordance with Australian government guidelines and manage contracts with local suppliers as required.
  • Manage the property portfolio and provide services including facilities management, property search and inspection, lease negotiation, building maintenance and inventory management.
  • Undertake Work Health and Safety (WHS) risk assessment activities and make recommendations for compliance with Australian and Greek regulations.
  • Manage assets including, but not limited to, the official vehicle fleet.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Greek authorities, suppliers and landlords.
