About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team at Pro Greece SA. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Greek Tax Compliance:
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns, VAT returns, and other relevant tax forms.
  • Stay updated on changes in Greek tax legislation and ensure compliance with all tax regulations.
  • Calculate and withhold taxes, such as income tax, social security contributions, and VAT.
  • Prepare and submit tax payments to the relevant tax authorities.
  • Financial Accounting:
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger accounts.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification and payment processing.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Other Duties:
  • Support the preparation of budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Adhere to internal control procedures and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Pylon ) is preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Strong understanding of Greek tax law and regulations
