We are seeking an
IT Officer
to support its global operations, 
reporting to the IT Manager
. The role involves providing technical support to both shore-based teams and vessel crews, managing desktops, servers, networks, and software systems.

Key Responsibilities

User & System Support

  • Provide technical assistance and support to company and ashore personnel

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize desktops, servers, networks, and software systems (both local and remote)

Cloud & Infrastructure Management

  • Administer and manage cloud-based platforms such as Azure, Office 365, Active Directory, ERP systems etc.

  • Oversee user accounts, mailing systems, mobile devices, and related services

  • Maintain a secure, resilient, and high-performing IT environment across all company sites

Onboard Support & Vessel Attendance

  • Travel to vessels to install, upgrade, and maintain IT and communication equipment

  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to onboard servers, workstations, networks, CCTV, and SatCom systems

  • Liaise with third-party vendors and coordinate repairs to ensure minimal downtime

Network & Security

  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure including VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP, and Wi-Fi systems

  • Implement data backup strategies, security protocols, and monitoring tools

  • Perform OS installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting (Windows 10/11, Windows Server, Proxmox, Hyper-V)

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field

  • 3 years of hands-on IT support experience. Shore-based and vessel environments experience (desirable)

  • Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, onboard IT systems, and cloud technologies

  • Proven experience with network administration (firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, Wi-Fi, VoIP)

  • Familiarity with satellite communication systems and onboard IT equipment is highly desirable

  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written) is essential

  • Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a customer-oriented attitude

  • Willingness to travel frequently
