CEE Marketing Manager OTC About the Role

This fantastic opportunity is embedded in CEE Business Unit Marketing team within OTC Category and reporting to CEE BU OTC Category Lead.

The Marketing Manager OTC for Business Unit CEE is responsible for creating the strategy, innovation pipeline and marketing plans for a Priority Brand of Voltaren for a set of markets in CEE. 

In this role you will ensure that we make the right strategic choices for a Priority Brand/Brands in a set of markets to drive gross profit through effective resource allocation.  You will manage a Non-Working Media budget to deliver the adopted/adapted assets across Consumer and Shopper for a Priority Brand/Brands in a set of markets, and leads CCAT approval for those assets with support from the LOC marketing team.  You will also lead creation of Consumer and Shopper assets when no appropriate assets exist from the Category or Design Markets.  A key part of the role will be influencing a number of key strategic partners including the cross-functional team and the LOC marketing teams to ensure buy-in to recommended strategies and plans.

Role Responsibilities
  • Responsible for developing the strategy, innovation pipeline and plans for a Priority Brand/Brands across a set of markets, and supports the Category Lead in creating the OTC Category Strategy.

  • Creates MAP 1 and MAP 2 with LOC input, and in partnership with the Area Expert and Digital teams.  This includes recommending the appropriate investment levels to ensure Brand/Brands financial objectives are met in a set of markets.

  • Leads effective portfolio prioritization and resource allocation for a Priority Brand/Brands across a set of markets to win in market

  • Develops media strategy and plan for Consumer, Shopper and Expert for a set of markets in partnership with the Area Digital team, the Area Expert team, and with the LOC Customer teams.

  • Briefs the Media Agency to create winning plans across all channels.

  • Leads adoption/adaptation of relevant Priority Brand content across Consumer and Shopper from Category and Design markets.  Leads CCAT approval of assets with support from the LOC marketing teams.

  • Leads creation of assets across Consumer and Shopper for a Priority Brand for a set of markets when no appropriate assets are available from the Category or Design Markets.  Leads CCAT approval of assets with support from the LOC marketing teams.

  • Supports the OTC Category Lead to develop innovation strategy and leads innovation projects until in market launch

  • Creates market sizing for innovation business cases with LOC input

  • Identifies consumer and shopper insight gaps for a set of markets and develops plans to address gaps.

  • Integrates consumer, shopper and expert insight from a set of markets into Brand/Brands strategies

  • Leads plans deployment with LOC marketing and commercial teams.

  • Participates in periodic reviews of Brand/Brands performance in a set of markets and collaborates with LOC marketing teams to identify and approve mitigating actions to deliver Brand/Brands financial commitments.

  • Effectively influences a number of stakeholders to ensure buy-in to recommended strategies and plans.

  • Engages and energizes internal and external stakeholders on the strategy, innovation and marketing plans for a set of Priority Brand/Brands in a set of markets.

Why you?Basic Qualifications:
  • Min Bachelor/Master Study (marketing, economics, management)

  • Fluent English

  • Extensive experience( 10 years+) in brand marketing within OTC Consumer Health categories( Pain, Respiratory, Digestive, Skin care, or similar) developing brand strategies and activation plans, inclusive of media management

  • Experience managing a brand/set of brands across markets, a in multi-country set up

  • Experience across commercial functions including either direct account management or category management or trade/customer marketing desirable

  • Experience or strong understanding of shopper marketing

  • Understanding of local trade across all channels, and consumer/shopper behaviour within each channel

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of local, national consumer and shopper trends and business environment factors.

  • Proven expertise managing and motivating outside agencies and vendors

  • Proven experience working across functions to create winning marketing strategies and plans.

  • Strong influencing, communication and collaboration skills to drive buy-in to recommended strategies and plans both with senior audiences (e.g., General Managers, Area GM) and junior audiences (e.g., LOC Brand Managers)

  • Strong analytical and strategic mindset

The role can be based in one of the CEE locations such as Poland/Warsaw, Czech Republic/Prague, Romania/Bucharest, Hungary/ Budapest or Athens/Greece and Bratislava/Slovakia.
