Summary
The Head of Service Operations leads our service operations organization, a team of approx. 20 employees, in Piraeus and Limassol, ensuring reliable, high-quality support for our customers through commercial support, Service Coordination, workshop and field job execution. The role builds a strong people and operations culture, where safety, inclusivity, and continuous improvement are at the core. By developing and empowering the local team, driving operational excellence, and aligning with global service strategies, the HSOP enables growth through customer satisfaction, efficient processes, and sustainable practices.
Your Responsibilities
Leadership & People
- Lead, motivate, and develop the local service team, fostering a culture of safety, inclusivity, accountability, and teamwork.
- Ensure the organization is staffed, skilled, and future-ready, with a focus on talent development and retention.
- Build a strong local people and operations culture, where our teams are engaged and empowered to take ownership.
Service Operations Excellence
- Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of service jobs to ensure "right first time" delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement through our operational excellence framework, including value flow, waste reduction, and process standardization.
- Ensure availability of infrastructure, tools, and resources in line with division standards.
Commercial & Financial Performance
- Lead local commercial support activities (quoting, agreements, invoicing, cash collection).
- Monitor and actively manage key operational and financial KPIs through the Operations Dashboard (e.g., invoice lead time, OBL, WIP, overdue collections), ensuring timely follow-up and improvement actions in collaboration with your local team.
- Develop and maintain financial acumen within the team to understand cost drivers, cash management, and financial implications, supporting sound decision-making and sustainable growth.
- Ensure efficiency in stock keeping, WIP management, and logistics evaluation.
QHSE & Compliance
- Be the ambassador for health, safety, and sustainability, ensuring compliance with all local regulations and Accelleron standards.
- Monitor and close corrective actions from audits, risk assessments, and performance reviews.
Teamwork & Strategy
- Work closely with your Finance, Sales and Country Manager and the Global teams to align
- Translate global and regional strategies into local actions to enable growth in the Greek and Cypriot markets.
- Drive lean and sustainable operations, simplifying and standardizing processes with the customer at the center, while ensuring safe and environmentally responsible practices.
- Support core-business and growth by efficiently managing service agreements, enabling data-driven decision-making, and preparing the team, systems, and processes for future market demands.
Your Background
- A Mechanical Engineering Degree and professional experience in a comparable position.
- 2+ Years of Experience in a service environment or marine or diesel engines, is a plus
- Proven leadership experience in service operations, ideally with responsibility for both commercial and technical functions.
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to build high-performing, inclusive teams.
- Solid understanding of service business processes, customer satisfaction drivers, and operational excellence practices.
- Financial and commercial experience, including budgeting and cost management.
- Fluent in Greek and English; excellent communication skills.
