As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for supporting the Purchasing Manager in identifying the best sources for products and services to meet the hotel's operational needs. This includes evaluating vendor proposals, managing purchase orders, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the procurement process. Your careful attention to detail and negotiation skills will be critical in ensuring that Conrad Athens The Ilisian maintains its commitment to excellence while controlling costs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the procurement of goods and services essential to hotel operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, perform cost analyses, and maintain strong communication with suppliers to foster reliable partnerships.
  • Process purchase orders and coordinate timely delivery of materials and services in alignment with operational requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all purchases, inventory levels, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with departmental stakeholders to assess purchasing needs and ensure consistent product availability.
  • Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and competitor offerings to support data-driven purchasing decisions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standardized purchasing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accountability.
Requirements
  • 2-5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the hospitality or service industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and strong understanding of supply chain management.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office; experience with inventory management systems is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills in both Greek and English.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
