About the role

You will be at the forefront of building our bank's proprietary credit risk models. This hybrid role combines data science with underwriting judgment to shape how we assess and price credit risk. You will own the end-to-end development of our credit scoring models — from data sourcing and feature engineering to model training, validation, stress testing, and ongoing monitoring. You will work closely with Risk Management, Data Infrastructure, Compliance, and Product team to ensure the model is accurate, explainable, reflect the business needs of snappi and being compliant with relevant regulations.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop, implement, and tune machine learning/statistical scoring models.
  • Utilize full breadth of information available to Snappi, including transactional behavior, credit bureau data, "traditional" and "non traditional" data, with the objective to.
  • Monitor model performance and fairness and perform regular recalibration as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with other Snappi departments (Credit Risk, Product, Technology) to ensure model meets business and regulatory objectives.

Requirements

  •  Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics).
  • 5+ years in credit risk modeling or decision science in a bank or fintech.
  • Proven track record of having successfully developed and maintained credit risk models used in production (Application Scoring Models, Behavioural Scoring Models, IFRS9 Models etc.).
  • Experience working in or with regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge technical modeling and practical credit decisioning.
  • Proficient with Model Development tools.
