Head of Accounting Operations

This role is focused on managing the accounting functions and programs, processes, and systems. It requires a strong understanding of financial regulations, laws, and procedures.
Job Description- Develop and implement structured reporting solutions to support business decision making.
- Review and analyze costs associated with business transactions.
- Prepare and implement business models, systems, and flows.
- Provide necessary support to Operations and Trading teams on all trade transactions.
- Implement and manage a global reporting, budgeting, and forecasting system to aid business decision making.
- Cash flow reporting and projections.
- Accounting reconciliations wherever required and review with an analytical perspective.
- Maintain transaction wise cost records to the best extent possible and constantly update the same.
- Review, develop, and implement cost capturing and reporting systems within the organisation in tandem with various departments.
- Compare actual results with budgets and forecasts and analyse and report on differences.
- Provide financial analyses as needed for pricing decisions and contract negotiations.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a shipping, commodity, and/or energy trading environment.
- Working knowledge of Greek tax laws 27-75 and 89.
- Experience in working with Benefit and SAP would be a strong asset.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Fluent Greek and excellent English.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisational and stress management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
