Lead Wine Expert

You will be responsible for creating and managing a wine program that complements our culinary offerings. This includes selecting wines, overseeing inventory, and ensuring exceptional service to guests.

About the Role:

  1. Curate and maintain a diverse and well-balanced wine list showcasing local and international selections.
  2. Provide expert wine recommendations to guests, taking into account their preferences and dining experience.
  3. Develop and lead comprehensive training programs for staff on wine service, pairing principles, and in-depth knowledge of the wine list.
  4. Plan and execute engaging wine tastings and educational sessions for both staff and guests.
  5. Collaborate with the culinary team to create bespoke wine pairing menus for special events and seasonal offerings.
  6. Oversee wine inventory management, ordering, and storage, ensuring optimal stock levels and cost control.
  7. Stay up-to-date with global wine trends, maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and industry professionals.
  8. Represent the venue at wine-related events and coordinate in-house wine promotions.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a sommelier in luxury hotels or fine dining establishments.
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • A deep understanding of global wine regions, varietals, and pairing principles.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Ability to train and inspire team members and foster a culture of continuous learning around wine.
  • Certified Sommelier (WSET Level 3, CMS Advanced, or equivalent).
