About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and forward-thinking
International Financial Accountant
to oversee our global financial operations. This role ensures that payments, reporting, and audits are managed with accuracy, integrity, and compliance, while driving efficiency and value creation across the business and partnerships.

You will play a key role in building strong, aligned financial practices that support our mission, applying research-driven insights, and continuously seeking ways to maximize value.

(Re)Location

We offer a relocation package to Cyprus, offering a competitive salary, including a by company sponsored apartment/house. VDM is a hybrid remote company, meaning that this position is REMOTE. Additionally, there is an option of working independently from an office in Limassol.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Payments Management

• Manage weekly payment cycles and oversee global bank accounts.
• Arrange payments from different kinds of entities.
• Execute payments across SEPA, ACH, and international wire transfers in multiple currencies.
• Ensure timely payroll execution and compliance with tax and social insurance obligations.
• Establish and manage local and international banking/EMI relationships.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and banking requirements.

Cost Analysis & Forecasting

• Analyze FX costs and key expense categories using historical and current data.
• Refine and implement cost categorization frameworks within financial systems.
• Retrospectively implement cost categories and ensure execution of new categories in the software.
• Create budgets, forecasts, and internal cost reports to guide decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Management

• Create and maintain financial reporting structures in line with IFRS and ABC standards.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports across all entities and countries.
• Provide insights into costs, revenues, and budgets across all participating entities to support strategic planning.

Audit & Compliance

• Lead and coordinate financial, tax, and statutory audits across multiple jurisdictions.
• Oversee local tax planning and compliance, ensuring audit readiness.
• Partner with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure transparency and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's or professional certification such as ACCA/CPA/ACA preferred).
• English proficient, excellent communication skills in English with the ability to collaborate across countries and cultures.
• Greek proficient is an advantage.
• 3-5 years of experience in International Finance, Payments, or Accounting, ideally worked in an international setting covering different countries/jurisdictions.

• With proven experience in International Accounting working with different jurisdictions world wide.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting frameworks.

• Proven experience with payroll, tax compliance, and cross-border payments.
• Hands-on experience with banking systems, multi-currency transactions, and EMIs.
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting tools; ERP experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and forecasting skills.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
