As a Sous Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring that culinary standards are met and maintained, while also mentoring junior kitchen staff. Your creativity and technical expertise will be essential in developing innovative menu items that align with our commitment to luxury and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Executive Chef in developing menus that emphasize local, seasonal ingredients and align with the hotel's culinary vision.
  • Supervise and guide kitchen staff, ensuring food preparation and presentation consistently meet established quality standards.
  • Maintain high culinary standards across all dishes, contributing to the hotel's reputation for excellence in dining.
  • Monitor inventory and control food costs by managing stock levels and coordinating supply orders as needed.
  • Train and mentor culinary team members, reinforcing best practices in food preparation, hygiene, and safety protocols.
  • Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring efficient workflow and service continuity.
  • Assist in planning and executing food production for hotel events, banquets, and special functions.
  • Collaborate closely with banquet and service teams to ensure coordinated efforts and exceptional guest experiences.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Sous Chef position or similar role in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant.
  • A degree in Culinary Arts or a related field is required; additional certifications are a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse kitchen team, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Strong creativity and the ability to develop innovative dishes and menus.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, capable of in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, fluent in Greek and English, with strong interpersonal abilities.
