As a TaskUs Director of Strategic Projects, you will be the driving force behind critical internal/strategic projects as prioritized by the Executive Team. Your role revolves around MAKING THINGS HAPPEN.  This role will often be faced with driving the organization to research, define, design, and execute solutions that a project owner or sponsor may not have and under challenging timelines to drive the organization forward.

The role will require research, planning, solutioning, and at times critical decision making.  It will require high emotional intelligence to navigate Executive asks and master use of relationships and clear project plans to drive project teams to otherwise impossible outcomes under aggressive timelines.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Single accountable party for a project's success or failure.  Communicating, driving, and garnering support from the Executive team to ensure success accordingly

  • Setting clear expectations on project milestones, timelines, and success criteria and regularly measuring progress against that criteria

  • Process mapping as-is and to-be processes

  • Data gathering, data analysis, stakeholder interviews to refine problem statements and establish clear as-is and to-be processes/workflows

  • Developing comprehensive project plans using standardized documentation (WBS, agendas, action trackers, risk and change registers).  Ensuring absolute clarity on who needs to do what and by when to execute a project through well defined project plans

  • Manage day over day progress vs week over week to accelerate results/closure

  • Executive Requirement gathering, report outs, and Steercos as required directly with SVP and C-Suite leadership

  • Engaging with key stakeholders and sponsors throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring scope, cost, and timelines are met.

  • Leading daily/2-3x weekly syncs DRIVING milestones, action items, and roadblock removal

  • Conducting deep-dive meetings with stakeholders, documenting actions, and creating timelines for resolution.  Relentlessly chasing progress on assigned items

  • Collaborating with internal and external teams across multiple geographies, driving process improvements, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining strong relationships with global partners.

  • Being adaptable and solution-minded, navigating changes with resilience and a focus on positive outcomes.

  • Managing project team, executive, and vendor relationships and expectations throughout the project cycle

  • Driving the closure process and organization-wide improvements based on lessons learned

  • Leveraging learnings from one project to establish/document/update standards for the next project as we handle new common project types

  • Reporting to cross-geo managers and aligning with diverse teams across multiple regions.
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent business/project management experience

  • PMP certified or commitment to undertake PMP certification within 1st year of role

  • 5-7 years of project management experience in complex projects

  • Strong desire to lead.  Critical to this role is making things happen regardless of challenges/roadblocks

  • Experience/ability to lead discovery sessions and build process maps (as-is and to-be)

  • Track record of taking complex projects with at times nebulous solutions and drive timely/effective/efficient results

  • High Emotional Intelligence.  Able to take direct feedback, direction, and challenges from Sr Executives, internalize, and leverage them to improve/drive outcomes.  Ability to take a failure or opportunity and bounce back ready to tackle the next

  • Exceptional problem-solving ability and attention to detail

  • Adept in "influencing decisions" through understanding of problem statements and stakeholder management when need arises.  Ability to drive a decision when a project hits a wall that is in the best interest of driving the project forward

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across different geographies, manage cross-functional teams, and report to executive leadership

  • Relentless/confident communication of roadblocks, risks, and issues along with mitigation strategies to executive leadership to drive necessary action/investment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Desire to drive projects day over day vs week over week. This role needs to wake up thinking about what needs to be done to drive the initiative forward towards goal daily

  • A solution-oriented mindset, comfortable with change and evolving business needs

  • Openness to working in multiple time zones, usually aligning with client or project team's working hours.

  • Must have above average oral and written communication skills and is able to interact with confidence across all levels of the organization. Has high aptitude on Stakeholder, Risk, Change & Project Management and must exude a high degree of authority, confidence and emotional intelligence in the workplace.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of BPO experience as an Operations and/or QA Leader that handles multinational clients.  Have a deep understanding of our core business.  Act like a PM, think as an operator

  • IT Project delivery experience

  • PMP, Agile, and/or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification/practitioner

  • Experience with international vendor management and launching new sites or geographies.

  • Experience on Projects with Workday, IEX, GSuite

  • Experience managing projects via Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, or similar Project Management applications

  • Understanding/Project experience with GenAI, Agentic AI, other automation solutions.  Overall understanding of AI and how to leverage it to drive efficiencies/solve problems
