Role Overview

As a key member of the Group's Executive Leadership Team, this role is responsible for setting and driving financial strategies aligned with the organization's long-term vision and aspirations. The Director of Finance provides financial leadership to achieve profit, cash flow, and key performance goals, while anticipating challenges, identifying opportunities, and creating sustainable competitive advantage. The role responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, and safeguarding the company's assets. It combines long-term financial strategy with operational excellence, while leading the finance team in delivering accurate reporting, efficient processes, and value-driven insights that support Empiria Group's growth and sustainability in the hospitality sector.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

·       Provide strategic insights through performance reviews, variance analysis, cost control, and profit-enhancement initiatives.

·       Lead the preparation of the annual budget, business plans, and cash flow forecasts.

·       Monitor, analyze, and report on performance against budgets through regular reviews.

·       Act as the main liaison with financial institutions, ensuring strong banking relationships.

·       Lead the Business Plan and CAPEX planning process, ensuring accurate data analysis.

·       Manage the Hotel's CAPEX plan, ensuring optimal use of owner funds.

·       Ensure sufficient operating funds and maximize cash flow through effective control of stock levels, credit, and receivables.

·       Oversee development projects, including ESPA initiatives, compliance with development laws, and RRF funding opportunities.

·       Execute, monitor, and enhance financial controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate standards and local regulations.

Accounting & Tax

·       Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and submission of the company's tax certificate.

·       Manage all audit-related interactions with tax authorities.

·       Lead the company's tax strategy, including planning, risk assessment, and review of tax positions.

·       Stay current with accounting and tax legislation to ensure statutory compliance.

·       Oversee preparation and submission of all tax filings (VAT, VIES, Intrastat, withholding taxes, etc.).

·       Prepare annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS standards.

·       Complete and submit the company's annual corporate tax return.

Operational Excellence

·       Make timely, well-informed decisions based on intelligence across the organization.

·       Support the implementation of robust metrics and controls to manage business risks and safeguard assets.

·       Provide financial guidance to hotel management, including monthly reports and performance analyses.

·       Maintain compliance with management agreements, contracts, and all relevant hospitality regulations.

·       Ensure timely renewals of licenses and secure safekeeping of financial and contractual records.

Team Leadership

·       Oversee daily operations of the Finance Department, ensuring efficiency and accuracy and setting high standards of performance and behavior.

·       Mentor team members through coaching, performance feedback, and recognition programs.

·       Collaborate with HR to identify training needs, ensure compliance with learningrequirements, and participate in recruitment and succession planning.

·       Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-engagement work culture, promoting teamwork and internal communication.

·       Ability to take action and make independent, informed decisions.

·       Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on profitability and growth.

·       Effective relationship management and influencing abilities.

·       Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.

·       Proven experience at a senior management level within Finance, ideally in the hospitality sector.

·       University degree in Accounting or Finance.

·       Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior finance role (hospitality sector experience preferred).

·       Proficiency with accounting software; knowledge of Entersoft ERP & Business by Epsilon NET is an advantage.

·       Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·       Fluency in English (both written and spoken).

·       Holder of A' Class Accounting License (mandatory).
