Position Overview

As a Financial Analyst at Odyssea, you will play a vital role in the financial health and transparency of our organization. You will oversee the financial monitoring and reporting of funded projects, ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently to maximize social impact. You will be a key member of the finance team, bridging the gap between daily transactions and high-level financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Budget Monitoring & Analysis: Track project expenditures against approved budgets and perform variance analysis to ensure financial alignment and sustainability.
  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of accurate financial reports, funding snapshots, and data-driven summaries for stakeholders and donors.
  • Transaction Oversight: Validate and process invoices, expense reports, and payments, ensuring strict adherence to project-specific financial guidelines.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage accounts payable/receivable processes and conduct regular bank reconciliations to maintain an accurate liquidity overview.
  • Data Integrity & Control: Maintain rigorous financial records and lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Compliance & Audit: Ensure all financial documentation is audit-ready and fully compliant with internal policies and donor regulations.
  • Process Optimization: Drive improvements in financial tracking tools and internal reporting systems to enhance data accuracy and efficiency.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with vendors, partners, and internal departments to resolve complex financial queries and provide strategic insights.

What You'll Need

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Experience: Approximately 2-3 years of proven experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
  • ERP Systems Knowledge: Solid experience working with ERP software (e.g. Pylon or similar) for data entry, financial reporting, or workflow management.
  • Analytical Excellence: Proven ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and ensure meticulous numerical accuracy.
  • Tech Savvy: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, data visualization) and G-suite.
  • Communication: Fluency in both written and verbal English and Greek.
  • Organizational Prowess: Excellent ability to manage multiple project deadlines and prioritize work assignments without compromising on quality.
  • Mindset: A collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international environment with a solution-oriented approach.

Great plus:

  • Experience working in NGOs, research institutions, or consultancy firms.
