Description
We are seeking a Engineering Lead - Product with proven experience in building 1st class web, data and analytics products to join our Engineering team, a part of Technology.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of delivering successful SaaS applications, Data APIs and other, modern digital experiences. In addition, the candidate must be able to demonstrate a deep technical expertise with a strategic vision and must guide development teams through complex technical decisions while maintaining business alignment.

You will take a pragmatic approach to build vs. buy, adopting managed solutions and services where appropriate, while ensuring that EA focusses its efforts on value-added engineering for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery for product engineering teams, across EA's suite of client-facing applications.
• Partner with Tech Product to translate requirements into executable roadmaps, managing capacity and striving to deliver value fast while maintaining high quality standards.
• Work with other Engineering teams to ensure alignment in shared capabilities and delivery dependencies, including across Platform, Services, QA, DevOps and others.
• Optimise engineering resources effectively, scale development operations efficiently and at the same time maintain product quality.

Requirements

• Proven technical leadership of product/application engineering teams, shipping modern web applications and services.
• Strong background in modern web technologies (e.g., React, , TypeScript) and backend frameworks.
• Experience in Python and preferably in one more strictly type-safe programming language, such as Go, C++ or Java.
• Comfortable designing and managing robust, secure, and performant APIs.
• Experience with real-time web services, event-driven systems.
• Experience with push notifications and webhooks.
• Experience leading teams of cross-functional software engineers.
• Experience with JIRA or other similar tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Desirable skills

• Experience with mobile application development.
• Understanding of energy & commodities markets.
• Experience with generative AI, both as an application feature and as an engineering productivity tool.
