The Tax Advisory team of FORVIS MAZARS in Greece is currently looking for an experienced Senior Assistant with a legal background, specialized in corporate and tax law, to join its dynamic and highly motivated team.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the rest of the tax advisory team, as well as with teams from other service lines.
  • Conducting thorough research of both new and existing legislation.
  • Drafting tax advisory reports, memos and proposals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work, while understanding client expectations and needs.
  • Maintaining strong technical knowledge in all areas of taxation, both domestic and international.
  • Coordinating with the tax advisory team, clients, intermediaries (being banks, lawyers, financial advisors and/or the tax authorities) and colleagues throughout advisory engagements.
  • Conducting in-depth research on case law from national courts and the European Court of Justice (ECJ), as well as examining decisions from the Dispute Resolution Directorate.
  • Dealing with ad-hoc client corporate and tax advisory and planning issues.

Requirements

  • BSc in Law (LLM in Corporate or Public Law with specialization in Tax Law and/or ADIT will be considered an asset).
  • Qualified to work as an Attorney-at-law in Greece.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in the relevant fields in a medium/ large practice environment (preferably audit firm or law firm with tax advisory department).
  • Completion of the Long-term Tax seminar provided by AUEB will be considered a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting, corporate, tax and labor law legislation.
  • Focus on delivering work of excellent quality with attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team.
  • Excellent organizational and planning capabilities, with a problem-solving approach.  
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work and adhere to tight deadlines and deliver under pressure.
  • Excellent computer-literacy skills.
