Job Description

As a Tax Accountant, you will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for the identification or maintenance of liabilities, tax liabilities, assets, or other financial activity records.

What you'll do

• Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
• Prepare and file corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other periodic taxes in accordance with Greek tax law.
• Monitor changes in Greek tax legislation and assist in assessing their impact on the company's operations.
• Participate in the MyDATA e-books system and ensure timely electronic submissions.
• Assist/integrate with monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring that accounting and tax obligations are accurately met
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and tax records and documentation.
• Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts
• Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets for tax liabilities and compare budgeted costs to actual costs
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
• Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel, and direct their work activities
• Other duties and projects as assigned

What we are looking for

• BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant field
• MSc degree in a related field will be considered as an advantage
• 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting or tax compliance (experience in a firm or corporate tax department preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Greek tax legislation and MyData platform
• Strong communication skills in English and Greek, both written and verbal
• Excellent command of MS Excel and general computer literacy
• Organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records
• Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
