Tax Accountant

Job Description

As a Tax Accountant you will analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for the identification or maintenance of liabilities, tax liability, asset, or other financial activity records.

What you'll do

· Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards

· Prepare and file corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other periodic taxes in accordance with Greek tax law.

· Monitor changes in Greek tax legislation and assist in assessing their impact on the company's operations.

· Participate in the MyDATA e-books system and ensure timely electronic submissions.

· Assist/integrate with monthly and year-end closing processes, ensuring that accounting and tax obligations are accurately met

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and tax records and documentation.

· Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts

· Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets for tax liabilities and compare budgeted costs to actual costs

· Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology

· Prepare forms and manuals for accounting and bookkeeping personnel, and direct their work activities

· Other duties and projects as assigned

What we are looking for

· BSc/Ba in Accounting, Finance or another relevant field

· MSc degree in related field will be considered as an advantage

· 2–4 years of relevant experience in accounting or tax compliance (experience in a firm or corporate tax department preferred).

· Strong knowledge of Greek tax legislation and MyData platform

· Strong communication skills in English and Greek, both written and verbal

· Excellent command of MS Excel and general computer literacy

· Organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records

· Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

· High attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
