Commercial Tanker Operator

Office: Piraeus, Greece

Roles & Responsibilities

Reports to: Head of Operations

Has Reporting to: Masters, agents for cargo and voyage operations with respect to the commercial trading of the ships.

Main Function:

Coordination and control of all cargo/voyage information between brokers, masters, agents, and ship owners/managers.

To devise and implement the most economical voyage plan consistent with customer, charter party, and regulatory requirements for each assigned ship.

Provide other operational functions as required by team.

Duties:

Respond to the chartering department providing input/data necessary for potential fixtures (i.e. prepare questionnaires; provide intakes and ETA's, etc.).

Manage the ship's commercial trading through voyage planning consistent with port/terminal and regulatory restrictions.

Review and provide Master with appropriate voyage orders, port information, and any applicable restrictions within the port.

Ensure that the ship and voyage operations are in compliance with operational aspects of the voyage charter parties.

Authorize ship's cargo capability and capacity

Ensure invoices are generated accurately and timely as required.

Ensure that ship owner and ship comply with operational aspects of time charter parties as appropriate.

Develop and implement timely solutions to cargo and voyage-related trading issues.

Competencies:

Minimum 3 years commercial experience of tankers pertaining to owners/operator's side of commercial operations.

Seafaring background from deck side preferable but it is not a prerequisite for this position.

Must have knowledge of day to day working of oil tankers and cargoes.

Must have a valid Greece residency/ work permit
